Teklynx offers some good barcode products but the marketing material can be a bit confusing, since they relate information about their RFID abilities but this capability is only included in the Gold version and not the Pro or Basic versions. The Pro version has linear and 2D support as well as HIBC barcodes.
Otherwise, TEKLYNX LABELVIEW has a pretty easy to use designer and they offer numerous support options, many pre-defined label choices and OLE support. This program also has advanced rich text support, password label protection and numerous shapes and symbols.
The TEKLYNX literature boasts over 70 fonts, however in the demo version of LABELVIEW we did not see that many, 70 fonts may refer to what is included in the Gold version. The Pro includes Code39s, 128s, UPCs and EANs. In addition, it includes a variety of 2Ds such as PDF417, Maxicode, Aztec, Data Matrix and some Code 16s.
This barcode software scores well in this area; it can print to both window based and thermal printers and includes database support. It does not have a true print preview, but a test print option.
The designer supports common features like font choices, shapes, lines, images, alignment tools and rotation. It also supports some more advanced functions like time/date stamping, check digit creation, password protection, compliance templates and symbols. We could not find serialization features in this version, though it may be offered in the Gold version.
The label designer has a straightforward label set up tool and numerous right click quick controls. Though the help section can be puzzling because it includes information about other versions as well.
TEKLYNX can be contacted by email or chat and they also offer web training. You can also find information online, tutorials and help within the program. TEKLYNX offers unlimited support on their products.
TEKLYNX LABELVIEW is a competitor in the barcode software market, yet we would like to see a few more features.
